What we look for

Independent pet shops, boutiques and concept stores. We are not looking for volume — we are looking for people who will explain to a customer why a cashmere sweater costs what it costs.

The market, in numbers

We are asked for this often enough that it is easier to publish it. The figures below are from published industry and sector research, not from our own sales.

  • 49% of Australian households own a dog, up from 40% in 2019, and pets live in 73% of all households (Animal Medicines Australia, 2025).
  • A$21.3 billion is spent on pets in Australia each year, of which A$1.4 billion goes to products and accessories — the category that includes apparel (Animal Medicines Australia, 2025).
  • The Australian pet-clothing market was worth US$40.8 million in 2024 and is forecast to reach US$53.9 million by 2030, a 4.62% CAGR (NextMSC, 2025).
  • Global cashmere apparel is growing at 6.8% a year, with Asia-Pacific the fastest region at 8.1% through 2033 (Grand View Research, 2025).
  • Mongolia supplies roughly 20–30% of the world's raw cashmere, second only to China, at a measured fibre diameter of 15.6–17.9 microns (Baldan et al., 2024; Grand View Research, 2025).

A note on what these do and do not show: no research firm tracks “cashmere pet apparel” as its own category, so the first four figures describe adjacent markets that a cashmere pet product sits between, not measured demand for it. We would rather say that than imply a number exists when it does not.

Terms

  • Opening order minimum — A$800, any mix of styles and sizes.
  • Reorder minimum — A$400.
  • Wholesale price — 50% of RRP, with a recommended keystone markup.
  • Lead time — 3–4 weeks for stock, 8–10 weeks for a production run.
  • Payment — 50% deposit on order, balance before dispatch.
  • Exclusivity — negotiable by city, not by country.

Seasonality

We sell year round rather than in one season — the range is bought as much for air-conditioned interiors and cool mornings as for genuinely cold days, which is what keeps it moving through an Australian summer. If you do want to weight stock toward the cooler months, order by June for October delivery.
